As a photographer, i was invited to MODA's Fashion Show that was held in Madison Musuem of Contemporary Arts. The event consisted of three local fashion designers who had successfully put up a great show. Not only the event was properly organized, we were treated with drinks, great music and art during the evening. My friend XinYi who was one of the designers had put up six different dresses that were amazingly stunning! There were more than 15 different pieces that was showcased during the event which gain recognition from the public.
As a photographer, this event was another challenging yet successful shoot for me. It was a challenging shoot in the sense which there was not much natural light nor any spot lights in the building that managed to assist with lighting. However, I've managed to set my ISO at 1.6K with my Canon 6D with a shutter speed of 25 - 50 most of the time to get the shoots. Initially, the walk way show was difficult to shoot due to the irregular surface of the stairs where the models came from. Moreover, i was on my 50mm prime lens during that shoot which was a total mistake! Although the prime lens had a minimum aperture of 1.8 which i needed for lighting, the auto-focus speed was too slow to catch up with the models. Hence, the walkway shoot was a total disaster!
However, things began to change and the perfect shots slowly began appear as I was given a second chance to shoot up close with the models. The up close session was the perfect session that gave me the opportunity to get most of my good shots. Moreover, it was definitely a fun experience to direct models into the best lighting positions in the building to get the best shots.
Overall, this event was a successful and enjoyable experience due to the professionalism of the organizer and the designers who had put up a great show!
